Do you think people really pay that much attention to the stamp on the envelope? Maybe, if there's no return address. But otherwise, I don't bother. Besides, usually it's illegible.

EditThis

That's cool in a geeky sort of way. I didn't know you could do that. Thanks for that info, Bean!

Gianni

That is pretty neat.

Off topic, but are we going to see some of your fabulous photography soon to show all the snow you guys are getting up there?

ARSENAL MF'ers!

I used to live/work near Santa Claus, IN.
They get really (understandably) goofy around the holidays and tons of Santa letter by kids who somehow think Santa lives in Southern Indiana(short bus kids).
What really puts Santa Claus, IN on the map is the water park there. 10x better than Raging Waters. Plus less Mexicans in t-shirts riding the rides.
So I guess 11x better.
I'm just sayin'.

PS
Do you have something against Saint Joseph, MO? Well maybe you've been there and that's why they don't make the list.

Raul

Hey that's pretty damn cool! I didn't know that they did that...may have to try that myself since we are sending xmas cards out very soon!

For an absolutely non-Christmassy story on North Pole, AK, check out Jon Ronson's "Bad Tidings". It's like "Bowling for Columbine" meets... er... Jon Ronson. http://www.guardian.co.uk/usguns/Story/0,,1977307,00.html

(There is apparently a TV version of this, but it doesn't seem to be online.)

Sigh. Loves me some Jon Ronson.

Vic Rattler

Snow Shoe? Really?

Nicholas

You're not crazy but,
Please Stop Caring!!!
Did you lick a stamp and say to yourself "I am lucky to have this letter sent at such a low cost." Really?
Cool info. but come ON!!!

Mike Hunt

that P.S. part of your post is kinda creepy, Bean.

Ann

Bean, I love you. I think you are adorable. I am so glad that I'm not the only one that loves the post office. I often find myself admiring the post office as well. I always say, "How can they deliver that from here to NYC for just 41 cents?" People think I'm nerdy, but I think people take things totally for granted.

I love your blogs and think you are right about everything! Especially about the post office and baby headbands.

Please continue the lord's work (actually in my case, Buddha) and spreading all your wisdom and cleverness.

asaf

how come there are no Hanukkah themes

Hey Bean you've been licking too many stamps! Sweet Jack told me to tell you the harassment must cease and desist!
