Why do you struggle Bean?
The legal sale of organs would all but destroy the current donation system, making money the main criteria for receiving an organ rather than need or viability.

I agree, Bean, about the organs. So rich people would be at an advantage to receive one? So what? The more rich people that were able to buy them, the more poor people would move up the donor wait list to be next. And I want Ron Paul's liver.

I don't think there is any real risk of organ theft, so I don't think this is a real issue, but I don't think allowing the free trade in organs would have any effect on organ theft. Even if we could freely buy and sell organs they will still be relatively expensive. And as long as they are expensive, there will be those inclined to steal them. I can buy or sell my car stereo, but there are still people who will steal it.

I've never given this subject any thought but it sseems to me that if there are more organs available that fewer people would die from not being able to get one. Does anyone disagree with that?
